Chief Executive

Before joining The Care Society in 2000 Guy had experience working within the Private Sector and working within Ceredigion County Councils' Homeless Department. Guy has been Executive Director of The Care Society since 2010 Guy is a fluent Welsh speaker with over 20 years of experience in Housing and Support. Guy holds an MSc in Management (Social enterprise innovation and creativity) and is a trustee of Tir Coed.

Richard Lucas

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Richard is currently Business Development Manager with responsibility for Social Lettings, Bond Scheme, Charity Shop and Shop Mobility Schemes

Richard has over 30 years’ experience in Housing, Homelessness and Support related work. Worked in Housing Benefits with Ceredigion County Council. Worked way up with Ceredigion Care Society to Executive Director level overseeing significant development of funding streams and services. Worked with Opportunity Housing (Mirus) as Regional Manager for Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire overseeing services for people with learning difficulties. Returned to work with The Care Society in current role. Recently achieved registered manager status. Outside of work Richard is a keen sportsman being well known in football circles having played for Aberystwyth Town and several other local teams before moving into coaching and management. Richard takes an active interest in local issues and recently stood as a candidate in the Ceredigion County Council elections in 2017.

Jeremy Brown

Jeremy is a senior manager within the Care Society with over 10 years’ experience of managing the housing support team and a range of homelessness projects. Brought up in Aberystwyth, he studied Law at Sheffield University, followed by Guildford College of Law before returning ‘temporarily’ to Aberystwyth and managing a university bookshop for over 20 years! Jeremy is passionate about helping disadvantaged people; utilising his social care registered manager status and business experience in the private sector to strengthen and develop all aspects of the Care Society.

Bridget Campbell

SUPPORT TEAM MANAGER FOR THE SOUTH

Bridget Campbell

I started work for the Care Society in 2006 supporting families to manage and maintain their tenancies. I then applied for the role of family support co-ordinator a role which I recently have completed my level 5 diploma in health and social care. With the growth of Care Society support services I support projects singles, families, homeless, disabled and the young person’s project in Cardigan,I also manage the Bespoke support packages in North Pembrokeshire and Sounth Ceredigion. It gives me a sense of pride when I carry out a service user’s review to see how much they have achieved with the help of the support they have received.

Alun Evans

“I have been working with the Care Society for over 10 years as part of the Support Team in the North of the county. Before joining this line of work I was building bike trails and renovating properties! Although I have escaped on a couple of occasions, for the most part I grew up and have lived in and around Aberystwyth. For me it’s the perfect place, with the coast and the hills, to enjoy my outdoor interests such as kayaking, biking and walking”

Dawn Toland

CHARITY SHOP AND SHOPMOBILITY MANAGER

Dawn Toland

Dawn moved to Aberystwyth as a student and after falling in love with the town and its people made her home here. She first became involved with the Care Society in 2015 when she took over the management of their charity shop. One of her first jobs when she joined was to help set up a new Shop Mobility scheme and since then she has been responsible for running both the shop and the shop mobility service in Chalybeate Street. Dawn enjoys the varied nature of her job and loves seeing the different donations that come through the door and working with her great team of volunteers.

Mark Richards

NIGHT SHELTER AND TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATIONS OFFICER

Mark Richards

Mark spent 8 years in the military before leaving to join the Fire Service in England. Upon returning to his beloved Aberystwyth Mark worked for himself before joining The Care Society in 2019 as the new night shelter manager. Mark is passionate about the work the society carries out and is on a huge drive to improve the living standards of the clients that pass through our doors.
